Network Rail, Nationwide Trial

Size: 40 kWp System

9 x Systems at various locations along the West Coast Mainline

After the successful installation and operation of the system at Eastbourne, eco-Kinetics was invited to tender for the installation of a further 9.no systems at various locations on the West Coast Mainline. Competing against many other contractors, eco-Kinetics was awarded the contract after submitting the most innovative design and proposal, with two different design solutions being approved. A bespoke non-penetrative design was put forward, this employed special fixing techniques. All sites have Webbox data loggers installed, with all data being relayed back to the O&M teams at Network rail and eco-Kinetics for analysis.

The systems will help enable Network Rail to assess the effectiveness of PV solar as a renewable energy resource and its impact on reducing carbon emissions across the rail network.

"I would not hesitate in my recommendation of Eco Kinetics to support you with the development, design, procurement & installation of your solar project. Having worked with the company over the last three months, I have found them to be an energetic & motivated company, responsive, efficient & effective in their approach to complexities & any change necessary to meet specification: - To design & install (4Kw) photovoltaic arrays, mountings & remote monitoring equipment across nine site specific buildings. - Commission & facilitate registration of each installation before the governments FIT deadline (3rd March). Our requirements were exacting & sites diverse, extending across 250 miles of the West Coast Main Line & Eco Kinetics were available to discuss & assist with all aspects of our works throughout. They developed efficiency within areas of the design (providing increased kWp production) & fast tracked a programme of delivery; ensuring resources & materials were procured & available to complete the works across a significantly shortened duration. They have managed every aspect of design, approvals, procurement, supply & installation & have been consistent in achieving safe, compliant installations & commissioning, to facilitate feed in tariff registration (of all nine installations) on time & on budget.
